(PAACT)
invites you to a
Fund Raising Dinner for the Children of Haiti.
“Friendship Through Hardship”
In October 2005, Northern Pakistan was rocked by an earthquake
of 7.6 magnitude. This earthquake left over 90,000 people dead and
hundreds of thousands homeless. The Haitian people now have been devastated
by a similar calamity. This 7.3 magnitude earthquake resounds in the
hearts and minds of the Pakistani American community, who has been through
a similar challenge. The Pakistani-American community is committed
in sharing the pain and sorrow of their Haitian family and wants to join
this community with a strong resolve to prevail, sustain and rebuild Haiti.

Save the Children.
Save the Children, is an International Connecticut
based charity with a consecutive four star rating for their efficiency and
program management. Save the Children has served the needs of some
of Haiti’s poorest children and families since 1978. Save the Children recently
merged programs and activities in Haiti with other members of the International
Save the Children Alliance, who also has programs in Haiti

Who we are...
Pakistani American
Association of Connecticut (PAACT) is a voluntary mass organization of ALL
Pakistanis regardless of their residential status, socio-economic standing,
and political, ethnic, or sectarian sensibilities. Its primary function is
to provide a focus for organizing the social and cultural life of our community.
On occasions, when a general consensus exists within the community, it works
for and takes public positions on issues of interest to the community. Constitutionally
it is a democratic and egalitarian grouping of equals and does not entertain
any classifications amongst its members on any basis whatsoever. It engages
in social, cultural, and educational programs under the authority of the general
body and under the provisions of its constitution, in order to serve Pakistanis
in particular, and the American society in general.
